On April 16th Gov. Howard Dean gave a rousing and insightful talk at UF, and Friday we had a lively Blue Door Café. On Saturday, April 18th, jon Reiskind, Susan Bottcher, and Lizzie Jenkins attended a Clay County DEC fundraiser in Orange Park where Karen Thurman was the guest of honor.

The Alachua County Democratic Party’s Outstanding Democrats Luncheon was a resounding success! The following people won awards. Harry Truman “The Buck Stops Here” Award (to a male elected official): Von Fraser, Alachua Co. Tax Collector. Eleanor Roosevelt Award (to a female elected official): Representative Debbie Boyd. Democrat of the Year Award: Staci Fox. Award for Sustained Service to the Democratic Party: David Chalmers. Unsung Hero Awards: Mae Leone, Stewart Neilson, Elizabeth Powers, Kathleen Shiverick, Bill Wrighton and Evelyn Foxx. Congratulations!

On February 21st local Democrats Krysten Rosen (UF College Dems), Susan Bottcher, Evelyn Foxx, Jon Reiskind, and Zach Moller (UF College Dems) met with Senator Bill Nelson in Gainesville.
